The process unfolds in the run-off election
The runoff election for the mayoral position in the municipality will take place on September 28th. The incumbent mayor, Marc Buchholz (CDU), received the most votes in the first round of the mayoral election with 38.30 percent. His opponent in the runoff election is Nadia Khalaf (SPD), who garnered 27.97 percent of the votes.
To vote in person on election day, eligible voters must bring their voting notification for the municipal election. Voting centers will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Voting times are from 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays, and until 6 pm on Thursdays. Voting times on Fridays are until 3 pm.
Eligible voters who voted by mail in the main election will receive their materials for the runoff election in the coming days. This requirement also applies for the runoff election.
