Prologo, an Italian brand known for its high-quality cycling components, has made a significant impact in this year's Tour de France. Their saddles, renowned for their performance and comfort, are being used by some of the top cyclists in the race.

One of Prologo's most popular and versatile short-nosed saddles, the Prologo Dimension 143 T4.0, is 143mm in width and noseless, making it a comfortable choice for a variety of riding positions. This saddle is currently available on Amazon for £59.70, a 34% discount from its original price of £89.99.

Another popular Prologo model is the 'T-shaped' Prologo Scratch M5, which is currently on sale on Amazon for US$120, a 19% discount from the original price of US$149. This saddle is suitable for both men and women and features five zones of active foam for a comfortable ride.

High-End Performance Saddles

Prologo also offers more high-end, performance-focused components. The Prologo Predator 01TT CPC saddle, used by Jonas Vingegaard in the Tour de France, is a time-trial specific saddle designed for elite racing. It features grippy "nubbins" or traction elements on the surface to enhance rider stability during aerodynamic riding positions. This saddle, which weighs 145 grams, costs approximately €1350. At €1350, the Predator 01TT CPC works out to almost €10 per gram.

Key features of the Predator 01TT CPC saddle include a lightweight carbon construction, an aero design optimized for time trials, and Prologo's CPC (Connect Power Control) technology, which provides grip and control without excessive friction or discomfort. The saddle's large PAS central channel reduces pressure on soft tissues for enhanced comfort, and its ergonomic V-shape (260x110 mm) is designed to encourage maximum pelvic rotation.

Prologo's Presence in the Pro Peloton

Prologo sponsors many teams in the WorldTour, and the Scratch M5 is one of their most popular models. In the Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard raced the first time trial stage on a Prologo saddle, the Predator 01TT CPC. Jonas Vingegaard's teammates, Simon Yates, Matteo Jorgenson, and Victor Campenaerts will also be using the Predator 01TT CPC saddle.

The cost for two team members to use the Predator 01TT CPC saddle for two stages of the Tour de France is approximately €5,500. The Prologo Dimension 143 T4.0 saddle is another popular choice in the pro peloton. Our own Simon Fellows gave the Dimension 143 T4.0 saddle 4 stars when he reviewed it.

Both the Prologo Scratch M5 and Dimension 143 T4.0 saddles are available for purchase on Amazon during Amazon Prime Day. The Predator 01TT CPC saddle is available for purchase for €1350.
