The prestigious CPKC Women's Open is set to return to Edmonton's Royal Mayfair Golf Club in 2026, marking the third time the club has hosted this esteemed national women's golf championship.

Royal Mayfair first welcomed the Women's Open in 2007, with LPGA Tour legend Lorena Ochoa taking the title. The club then hosted the tournament again in 2012 and 2013, during which the then-amateur Lydia Ko claimed back-to-back victories, setting the stage for her future success in the sport [1][2][4]. Ko would later win her third Canadian title at the CPKC Women's Open in 2015, further underlining the tournament's role in nurturing global golfing talent.

The 2026 event at Royal Mayfair is scheduled for August 17-23 and will be part of the 52nd playing of Canada's National Women's Open Championship. It will also be the only LPGA Tour event held in Canada that year [1][2].

The Royal Mayfair Golf Club, which celebrated its centennial in 2022, has undergone extensive renovations, including a modernisation of its clubhouse in 2023 [3]. The club's president, Daniel Kickham, expressed his excitement for the upcoming tournament, stating, "We are thrilled to have been selected as the host for the CPKC Women's Open in 2026. Royal Mayfair has a rich history with this event, and we look forward to continuing our tradition of showcasing women's professional golf in Canada."

Trillium Health Partners currently serves as a community beneficiary for this year's Women's Open, while the CPKC Has Heart community partner in Edmonton will be announced in early 2026 [5].

Since its inception in 2014, the CPKC Women's Open has raised over C$23 million for pediatric heart health in various communities [6]. The 2026 event is expected to attract golf enthusiasts from within Edmonton, surrounding communities, and across the province.
