"The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise makes its Fortnite Battle Royale appearance"
=========================================================================================
Fortnite's latest update, v30.20, has brought a crossover event with ghostly pirate themes inspired by the classic Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. This event, known as "Cursed Sails", offers players a unique pirate-themed experience filled with thematic elements and quests.
Key Features
Ship in a Bottle
One of the event's most intriguing features is the Ship in a Bottle. This thematic object can be found scattered across Shipwreck Shallows' pirate ship and other locations in the game. Cracking open a Ship in a Bottle will bring forth a cursed ship from the ghostly depths.
Pirate Cannon
Players will now have access to pirate-themed weaponry, including the Pirate Cannon. These cannons can be used to launch oneself avast distance or rolled to a prime destination to launch a teammate. They offer new combat experiences and strategies typical of naval engagements.
Buried Treasure
Hidden pirate treasures await on the Island, and players can find them using Buried Treasure Maps found in Chests and on the ground across the BR Island. This questline or collectible hunt encourages exploration and participation in scavenger-hunt gameplay elements.
Cursed Sails Quests
The Cursed Sails Quests are a series of challenges or missions linked to the event narrative. Completing these quests will reward Cursed Gold, which players can use to unlock rewards from the Cursed Sails Pass. The more Cursed Gold a player has, the more rewards they can unlock.
The Cursed Sails Quests are divided into eight "Pirate Codes," with new sets of quests going live every few days. As of now, the Pirate Code One Quests are live, followed by the Pirate Code Three Quests on July 23, the Pirate Code Five Quests on July 27, the Pirate Code Seven Quests on July 31, the Pirate Code Four Quests on July 25, the Pirate Code Six Quests on July 29, and the Pirate Code Two Quests on July 21, culminating with the Pirate Code Eight Quests on August 2.
Players can track their Cursed Gold and remaining Pass rewards by heading to the Cursed Sails tab in the Lobby.
In addition to these features, players can find the Flint-Knock Pistol, another unvaulted weapon, as loot or on the ground. The spectral ship can dive into opponents with a devastating crash and take aim at landlubbers from the crow's nest.
This crossover event heavily centers around ghostly pirate aesthetics and gameplay, enhancing Fortnite’s Battle Royale experience with new thematic content and challenges inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean. With the Pirates of the Caribbean event, Fortnite v30.20 offers a distinctive pirate-themed gameplay experience that is sure to excite players.
