Fleetwood Mac's Early Roots Resurface with the Re-release of Buckingham Nicks

In a thrilling turn of events, the classic album by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, Buckingham Nicks, is set to be re-released on September 19, 20XX. This album, originally recorded in 1972 at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, holds significant historical value as it was near this very location where Sound City Studios Fleetwood Mac's 1973 album was originally recorded, adding to the evidence of a new project in the pipeline.

Before the formal studio sessions, Nicks and Buckingham recorded demos on a four-track Ampex tape machine at night in Daly City, California, at a coffee roasting plant owned by Buckingham's father. They then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a record deal, continuing to record songs with the tape machine as they worked jobs to support themselves.

The re-release of Buckingham Nicks comes after a cryptic message posted by Stevie Nicks on Instagram, which seemed to hint at a new project. This has sparked excitement among fans, who can now pre-order vinyl copies of the album in various color variations.

Mick Fleetwood, a member of Fleetwood Mac, discovered the album during a studio visit in Los Angeles in the '70s. Impressed by the sound of the production and the quality of the music, he reached out to Lindsey Buckingham, offering him a role in Fleetwood Mac. This decision reshaped the band and led to the critically well-received 10th, self-titled album (often referred to as their White Album) released in 1975.

However, it's important to note that Christine McVie, another member of Fleetwood Mac, passed away in 2022. Stevie Nicks previously stated that there is no chance of Fleetwood Mac reforming without McVie.

The album Buckingham Nicks, originally released in 1973, is being digitally re-released on streaming platforms and as a CD. Rhino High Fidelity will release limited edition vinyl versions of the album, including replicas of the album's 7" singles. Given its historical significance and the growing appreciation for the album over the years, these limited edition vinyl versions are expected to be highly sought after by collectors.

Buckingham and Stevie Nicks officially joined Fleetwood Mac on New Year's Eve 1974, marking a new era for the band. With the re-release of Buckingham Nicks, fans can revisit the roots of this iconic band and appreciate the journey that led to their success.
