Netflix recently unveiled their first-ever Engagement Report, offering unprecedented insight into viewer data. Unsurprisingly, top-rated shows, teen dramas, and females-led series dominate the streaming giant's charts.

The FBI thriller, Night Agent, Ginny & Georgia's first two seasons, Korean drama Glory, Jenna Ortega's Wednesdays, Bridgerton-spinoff Queen of Charlotte, and Penn Badgley's You's fourth season based on the ten most-watched TV series or films on Netflix from January to June 2023 shared the stage. Nachtagent, Eli and Arnold Schwarzenegger's "FUBAR" in queens of the South's third season, and Outer Banks' third season took the top spot.

Among the 18,000+ titles on Netflix, Manifesto's fourth season, Firefly Lane's second season, Jennifer Lopez's Thriller "Mother", Eddie Murphy's "You People" and two seasons made the Top 100 list. The canceled series "Sex/Life", Reality shows like "The Perfect Match" and "Love Is Blind" (Season 4), and the breakout hits from the awards season "The Diplomat" and "Beef" rounded off the list.

In the past, Netflix has been selective with revealing viewer habits, often spotlighting popular series or films in "Top 10" or "Most-Watched" lists instead of offering comprehensive consumer data. However, recent facts reveal the least-watched series and movies for the first time.

Netflix data reveals that non-English shows like Spain's "The Snow Maiden", Germany's "Queen" and Israel's "Fauda" make up 30% of the most-viewed content. Original series and films accounted for 55% of viewing time, while liscenced content (like "Grey's Anatomy" and "Suits") comprised 45%.

ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" has been popular on Netflix.

Netflix has often been reticent in revealing viewer preferences and highlighting strong content in "Top 10" or "Most-Watched" lists. However, public data for the first time reveals the least-watched series and movies.

Foreign series like "The Snow Maiden" (Spain), "Queen" (Germany) and "Fauda" (Israel) account for 30% of the most-viewed content. Original series and films accounted for 55% of viewing time, with licensed content (like "Grey's Anatomy" and "Suits") making up 45%.

The first season of "Suits", broadcast for nine seasons on USA Network initially, ranked 67th among the most-watched series in June 2023, before its summer revival. Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos introduced the new Engagement Report to reporters, including CNN, last Tuesday and praised "Suits" success.

"It's interesting how a show like 'Suits', which has aired for years in the USA and was on Peacock for some time before joining Netflix, found a new audience due to our broad global subscriber base and our recommendation system that exposed Suits to the viewers who would enjoy it most," said Sarandos.

Netflix plans to release viewer data for the second half of 2023 soon.

Netflix revealed viewer statistics for November and December 2023, with "Stranger Things" and "Glow & Oh Happy Day" emerging as the most-watched titles - both being Netflix originals. The platform also released the first-season adaptation of the popular virtual pilot "Heartstopper", entitled "Heartstopper: Season 1".
