An appeal against her conviction was filed, but before the trial was held, Marzia and her spouse Jomic Calleja Maatouk (38) skipped the country, fleeing to hide from the law. New evidence suggests they jointly planned to acquire synthetic drugs and explosive material through the dark web.

According to the authorities, Gomez is a solid part of the drug trade, smuggling kilos of substances and a stunning many euros across Europe. Her cover? She headed the international animal rescue group "HundGarin."
When the Swedish police raided a location, they discovered bags loaded with cash – over a million euros! The 31-year-old managed to escape and remains on the run since March 2021.
