Garmisch-Partenkirchen had previously made Dahlmeier an honorary citizen in 2018, recognising her as a highly respected and lovable personality. The sudden death of Dahlmeier has deeply affected the community, her hometown, and touched many people far beyond the borders of their town.
In addition to the park renaming, the municipality has set up a condolence book for residents and visitors to share their memories and thoughts about Dahlmeier. The condolence book can be found at the town hall, and it is also available on the municipality's website. The condolence book will be handed over to the family of Dahlmeier once it is filled. The memorial site in the Partenkirchen Kurpark has been reported by the "Munich Mercury," and the renaming proposal was previously discussed with the publication by Mayor Elisabeth Koch.
