The Los Angeles Arena, Home to the Lakers, Kings, and Sparks, Installs a Fresh Scoring System
Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles has a new centerpiece - a cutting-edge scoreboard installed by Daktronics in 2022. However, a search for detailed key features and specifications of this impressive display yields no relevant results.
The new scoreboard is a six-display, 5,500-square-foot configuration, suspended over the arena floor. It offers multiple high-resolution LED video screens on all four sides for excellent visibility from any seat.
The main video display, measuring approximately 27x170.5 feet in circumference, features 3.9mm pixel spacing. It can show multiple zones of digital content as needed for each event, displaying live video feeds, instant replays, statistics and game information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
Below the main display on the center-hung structure, a bottom display faces the floor below. It measures 18x18 feet and offers additional graphics and animations, catering to those patrons sitting closer to the floor. Each underbelly display fitted along each side of the bottom display, facing the sides and ends of the arena, measures nearly 14x16.5 feet. These displays can show supplemental content to the main display.
The scoreboard also includes end wall and ribbon displays provided by Daktronics in 2022. A custom Daktronics control system, featuring Show Control with Camino and Venus Control Suite, ties together the new center-hung scoreboard with the previously installed end wall and ribbon displays.
The addition of Camino to the control system will provide a new level of functionality to create dynamic, real-time rendered content never before possible in a Daktronics system. The scoreboard is set to enhance the fan experience for concerts, live events, and sports games at Crypto.com Arena.
For precise technical specifications such as exact dimensions, pixel pitch, total display area, and additional interactive features, official Daktronics press releases or Crypto.com Arena communications from 2022 would be the authoritative sources.
