The Kaarster Albert-Einstein Forum invites you to their inaugural New Year's celebration, to be held on February 9th at 11:00 AM, under the theme "Kaarst is colorful!" in Kaarst.
Hear ye, hear ye! Grab your finest attire and mark your calendars, folks, for an unmissable event coming your way. On February 9, from high noon to three in the afternoon, the Kaarst Albert-Einstein Forum, generously provided by the city, will be the hotspot for a spellbound gathering. Regrettably, Mayor Ursula Baum, who's currently refreshing her tan on a tropical vacation, can't join us. Yet, she's wholeheartedly supporting this citizen-led initiative, as the city bureaucracy's purse strings are humbly tied due to budget consolidation.
With Dagmar Andrae-Maukel and Heinrich Hannen at the helm, this gathering gathers a collective of volunteers, associations, and engaged citizens for a cosy-yet-serious powwow. The primary aim? To fire a political broadside against bigotry, violence, and bigotry, and to champion a more inclusive and loving Kaarst for all.
In attendance will be Kaarst's fine associations and politically-active peeps, save the political parties themselves, as this shindig ain't meant to be a party-political affair. Dagmar and Heinrich plan on hosting the reception in the style of a live talk show, where guests can take the stage and share their two cents or engage in some lively discourse.
It's a grand opportunity for associations and art groups to showcase their wares, distribute information materials, and engage in some one-on-one chats about their work. If you're itching to join this colorful assembly, grab a pen and email [email protected] pronto! Dagmar and Heinrich are keeping their fingers crossed that this bash will go down as smoothly as its predecessors and attract between 200 to 300 buzzing bees.
As Dagmar Andrae-Maukel puts it: "Our vibrant Kaarst initiatives and associations remind us that we're living in a joyous, rainbow Kaarst. Let's fortify the democratic heart together, and stand united, as we march onto the federal election, for democracy, diversity, and against bigotry, violence, and extremism."
So, what exactly is this "Kaarst is colorful" initiative? Guesses can be made, though the official story's yet to be spun. But from clues in the wind, it appears to be a grassroots network of Kaarst community members who band together to combat hate and promote harmonious coexistence in their fair city. Formed in the aftermath of a January 2024 disclosure by Correctiv – prompting Germans to speak up against extremism – Kaarst residents finally had an opportunity to raise their voices when "Kaarst is colorful!" organized a demonstration on February 3, 2024, which drew a whopping 3,000 revelers.
In the first quarter of 2025, "Kaarst is colorful" is slated to become a registered non-profit association, so stay tuned for more fun times and colorful happenings!
Yours sincerely,Thomas Broich
