Rock Legends The Who Bid Farewell to North America with Upcoming Tour

Get ready, North America! British rock icons The Who are about to take the stage one last time on their U.S. and Canadian tour this summer. Known as "The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour," this spectacular event will be a slamming end to their six-decade-long, groundbreaking career.

Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend unveiled the tour on May 11, confirming they'll burst onto the stage with hits from their extensive discography. The journey begins in Florida on August 16, with further stops in major cities like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Vancouver, wrapping up in Las Vegas on September 28.

"Making it big in the U.S. charts was every musician's dream in the early '60s," Daltrey shared, reflecting on the band's extraordinary journey. They went from club shows to headlining the legendary Woodstock festival and becoming one of the most successful touring bands in history.

Inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, The Who have managed to remain a powerhouse duo, even after the tragic deaths of drummer Keith Moon in 1978 and bass guitarist John Entwistle in 2002. "Today, Roger and I continue to fly the flag for our fallen bandmates, along with our devoted fans," Townshend said.

Throughout their journey, Daltrey, often unrecognized as a songwriter, connected with Townshend's complex emotions, capturing the band's signature sounds in iconic tracks like "My Generation," "Baba O'Reilly," and "Won't Get Fooled Again." Two albums, "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia," were even adapted into successful films in 1975 and 1979, respectively.

Pre-sale tickets will be available from May 13, with the general sale commencing May 16. Be sure to mark your calendars – this promising tour promises to be one for the history books! Although Daltrey mentioned he'll need to take breaks between gigs due to throat issues, and no U.K. tour plans have been announced as of yet, prepare for a truly grand finale as The Who rock their way across North America this August and September.
