The iconic band My Chemical Romance breathes new life into their classic album 'The Black Parade' and premieres a fresh track at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
My Chemical Romance Debuts Unreleased Track "War Beneath the Rain" on "Long Live The Black Parade" Tour
On Saturday, My Chemical Romance took the stage at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for their "Long Live The Black Parade" tour, and they didn't disappoint. The band debuted an unreleased single titled "War Beneath the Rain," marking their second unveiling of new music since their reunion in 2019.
The powerful rock ballad, which is dedicated to the late producer Doug McKean, is a poignant exploration of memory and fate. McKean worked on the unreleased album The Paper Kingdom before his passing in 2022.
My Chemical Romance donned black marching band uniforms for the Dodger Stadium setlist, which included hits from their other releases, covers, and the never-before-heard "War Beneath the Rain." The band played back-to-back shows at Dodger Stadium on July 26-27, with an energetic crowd swaying, singing, and moshing along to the iconic 14 tracks.
The performance of "The Black Parade" was a full-on theatrical production, with Gerard Way playing the part of the album's protagonist in a redemptive and fatalistic arc. Way introduced "War Beneath the Rain" as a song from a record never released by the band.
After fireworks, a wardrobe change, and a cello interlude, the band performed an additional set in the middle of the crowd. Fans at Dodger Stadium quickly captured and shared videos of the performance of "War Beneath the Rain" across social media.
It's yet to be determined whether "War Beneath the Rain" will receive a studio release or whether the band will showcase more unreleased tracks along the tour. Regarding future releases, it is currently uncertain if My Chemical Romance will officially release The Paper Kingdom.
My Chemical Romance released "The Foundations of Decay" in 2022, their first single in nearly a decade. Their next performance is in Arlington, TX on Aug. 2. The tour continues up and down the east coast through September, with a pause until the band heads to Latin America in 2026, with dates lined up in Santiago, Chile, and Mexico City, Mexico. The shows were part of the "Long Live the Black Parade Tour."
Celebrities on social media are sharing videos of My Chemical Romance's unreleased track "War Beneath the Rain," which was performed during their theatrical production at the "Long Live The Black Parade" tour. The single is a poignant addition to My Chemical Romance's setlist, which features a mix of entertainment genres including rock ballads and covers.
