The highly anticipated crossover between "It's Always Sunny" and "The Golden Bachelor" promises to live up to its reputation for eccentricity and unrestrained humor.

In an unexpected twist, the long-running American sitcom "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has teamed up with the popular reality TV show, "The Bachelor," for a unique crossover event. The idea was pitched to Danny DeVito, who, interestingly, had not previously watched "The Bachelor" franchise. After getting acquainted with the show, DeVito found the crossover idea "really cool" for his character, Frank Reynolds[1].

The season 17 finale, airing on FXX, features Frank's storyline on "The Golden Bachelor," a comedic and chaotic quest for love that suits his unpredictable personality[1][2]. Jesse Palmer, the actual host of "The Golden Bachelor," makes a notable appearance in the crossover, witnessing the insanity that is Frank Reynolds.

DeVito expressed appreciation for the hospitality and the opportunity to explore new material linked to "Bachelor" lore. He mentioned that the cast and crew of both shows worked well together, with everyone being very comfortable and flexible with the absurdity of the "It's Always Sunny" style[1]. DeVito reflected on how the show felt like family and expressed excitement for continuing the series into season 18[1].

The season 17 finale of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" will be available to stream the next day on Hulu, a service owned by The Walt Disney Company, which also owns FXX and the ABC station where "The Bachelor" airs. The show's cast includes Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, and Kaitlin Olson.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" holds the title as the longest-running live-action sitcom in American TV history. The show is set to continue with season 18, starting in January. For fans who can't wait, the season 17 finale will also be available on Hulu on Disney+.

DeVito stated that there is no stiffness on set once the guest star or anyone else knows that they can let it fly. He also mentioned that the production values "make people happy." With the success of the Golden Bachelor crossover, it seems that the happiness is being spread far and wide.
