"The 'HeidiFest' show is scheduled as a farewell event"
The Wildecker Herzbuben Disband After 36 Years, Members Pursue Solo Careers
After 36 years of making music together, the popular German Schlagermusik duo, the Wildecker Herzbuben, have officially dissolved their civil law partnership on March 31. The band, known for their humorous and energetic performances, will not continue as a duo with a new member replacing Wolfgang Schwalm.
Wilfried Gliem, one half of the iconic duo, still holds the trademark for the Wildecker Herzbuben. However, his health has been a challenge, and he could only manage last performances in a wheelchair or with a walker. Despite this, Gliem plans to find another singer to perform with if he recovers.
Meanwhile, Schwalm is focusing on his solo project with a new record deal and will continue as "The Herzbube Wolfgang" from autumn onwards. He did not inform Gliem about the new deal. Legally, Gliem could rehire Schwalm, but it seems the two are going their separate ways.
The contract for Klum's Oktoberfest party stipulates that Gliem will sing from a wheelchair. He and Schwalm will perform together one last time at Heidi Klum's Schlager show in September. After that, it seems the original duo is effectively separated, with both pursuing independent paths rather than continuing the Wildecker Herzbuben with a replacement member.
Gliem emphasized no bitterness or rivalry between them. Instead, he wishes Schwalm success in his solo career as "Der Herzbube Wolfgang." He does not express plans for recruiting a new member. Gliem also mentioned that he intends to take a break from performing until his health improves and that a joint performance in the future is only conceivable if schedules allow, but primarily as a reunion rather than a new formation.
This news marks the end of an era for the Wildecker Herzbuben, but fans can look forward to new music from both Gliem and Schwalm in the coming months.
Celebrity Heidi Klum's upcoming Schlager show in September will feature pieces of pop-culture, as Wilfried Gliem and Wolfgang Schwalm, former members of the Wildecker Herzbuben, will perform together one last time. As they pursue their separate careers, entertainment enthusiasts can anticipate new music from both Gliem and Schwalm.
