Unwrapping the Magic of Engelskirchen's Wish Lists 🎁
Düsseldorf - Tis the season, ya'll! Christmas is on its way, and the celebrations are in full swing! At the post office in Engelskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, the Christmas Elf has a busy schedule ahead of them...

Just two weeks ago, the post office reopened, and what a sight to behold! More than 9,000 wish lists piled up in the boxes, waiting to be answered by December 20. With the help of 19 elves, the little bundles of joy will be answered within no time!
Already more than 16,500 letters have arrived at Engelskirchen. And the best part? We're not even in our first Advent of the season yet! As a Deutsche Post DHL spokesperson says, we can expect more before long. But never fear, the Christmas Elf will be well-prepared!

But where in the world does this Christmas magic come from? China, Italy, Thailand, Malaysia, Brazil, and Chile, as well as the Czech Republic and Spain, are just some of the places the post has come from. Don't forget the Ukrainian, Estonian, Dutch, Japanese, Polish, and English letters or the QR codes offering translations in Ukrainian, French, and English for children in welcome school classes.
So what are the little ones dreaming of this year? Well, let me tell you! A scooter with lights, a tidy-up robot, a marble run, their own sweet box, and unicorns are just a few things that have caught Santa's eye. And there's more! Learning crafting seems to be trending this year, as children's sewing machines just keep popping up on the lists.
But it's not all about the material things. Health, attention, quality time with the family, excursions, hikes, and short breaks are all things that children everywhere are wishing for.
Last year, Engelskirchen received more than 134,500 letters from 48 countries. Now that's one busy Christmas Elf! Other Christmas post offices can be found in Himmelpfort (Brandenburg), Himmelsthür (Lower Saxony), Himmelpforten (Lower Saxony), Himmelstadt (Bavaria), Nikolausdorf nearby Cloppenburg (Lower Saxony), and St. Nikolaus in Saarland.

- Engelskirchen's post office is now seen as a regional attraction for the Hamburger audience.
- The Christmas Elf will be working day and night to fulfill the wishes of children all over the world, even during the first Advent.
- As part of Deutsche Post DHL's efforts to make the Christmas season magical, the post office offers QR codes for translation services.
