Solingen Mayor Election: Mail-In Voting Details

Residents of Solingen have until September 26, 3:00 PM to apply for mail-in voting for the upcoming mayoral election on September 28, 2025.

The application process can be initiated online via the website www.solingen.de/oliwa. For those who prefer a more traditional approach, applications can also be made by mail, fax, or in person.

On September 26, the mail-in voting office in Ohligs will be open from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It's important to note that this office will remain open until September 26. However, on September 27, the office will be closed.

The election office will accept mail-in voting documents until 4:00 PM on election day. These documents can be deposited at several locations, including Town Hall, Walter-Scheel-Platz; the Administrative building, Bonner Street 100; the Citizen's office Mitte, Mumm Street 1; the Citizen's office Ohligs (mail-in voting office), Green Street 2; and the Election office, Gas Street 22. City mailboxes can also be used for depositing mail-in voting documents by 3:00 PM on election Sunday to ensure timely delivery.

Over 20,000 Solingen residents have already taken advantage of mail-in voting. This option is available for those unable to vote on election day or preferring to vote from home. Every vote counts in the election for Solingen's new mayor.

The polling stations will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on election day. The candidates for this election are Daniel Flemm (CDU) and Josef Neumann (SPD).

It's worth mentioning that no new voting notifications will be sent. The information on the notification for the main election on September 14 remains valid. However, no information is available on who has requested mail-in ballot applications for the Solingen mayoral election on September 28, 2025.
