The Emergence of 1587 Restaurant by Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce: An Explanation of Its Origins

In the heart of downtown Kansas City, Missouri, a new high-end dining experience has taken the city by storm. Known as 1587 Prime, this two-level restaurant offers an unparalleled dining experience that seamlessly blends luxury, sports, and culinary excellence.

The grand entrance on the ground floor, reminiscent of a dramatic walk into a stadium, sets the tone for the evening ahead. As you step inside, you're greeted by a host stand featuring a large, refrigerated display showcasing premium dry-aged cuts of meat.

1587 Prime is one of, if not the most expensive restaurants in Kansas City. Prices for an eight-ounce, wagyu filet stand at $95, and a six-ounce top cap wagyu ribeye costs $110. However, the restaurant also offers a variety of seafood and vegetarian options, ensuring there's something for every discerning palate.

The restaurant's interior design, implemented by The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, has subtle football touches that pay homage to the city's beloved Kansas City Chiefs. The sweeping staircase ascends to the second floor, where there is a private dining room with the most football memorabilia in the restaurant and an art deco look.

The high-end steakhouse was established with the numbers referring to Patrick Mahomes (No. 15) and Travis Kelce (No. 87), two Kansas City Chiefs players who have won three Super Bowls for the city. Both Mahomes and Kelce have been actively involved in the development of 1587 Prime.

Many food and drink items at 1587 Prime are named after the Kansas City Chiefs, including a beverage called The Showtime, featuring Coors Light syrup and other ingredients. The $15 Mahomes Ketchup Flight is a lineup of three unique ketchups made in-house. In addition, the restaurant offers six beer selections, including Coors Light, which Mahomes sponsors, and Garage Beer, in which Kelce is a major investor.

Constructing the private area on the second floor was a special request from Mahomes and Kelce. The Loews Hotel, where 1587 Prime is located, is one of the city's most posh accommodations, making it the perfect setting for this exclusive dining experience.

The restaurant seats 238, including a bar that seats 20. Live music performs nightly, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. As of now, the restaurant is booked solid through at least the end of October.

The story of 1587 Prime's inception is an interesting one. Mikey Tanha, co-founder of Noble 33, initially doubted if Kansas City was a suitable market. However, a friendship with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' younger brother, Sacha, influenced the decision. Noble 33 executives declined to disclose the financial commitment from Mahomes and Kelce, referring to it as a 'partnership'.

Donna, Kelce's mother, has eaten at 1587 Prime, and Kelce and Swift dined at the restaurant for a soft opening on Monday, Sept. 8. The restaurant's success is a testament to the enduring appeal of fine dining and the power of sports-themed experiences.

In conclusion, 1587 Prime offers a unique and luxurious dining experience that is sure to impress. Whether you're a sports fan or a food connoisseur, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable night out in Kansas City.
