The Elisabeth Mystery Unveiled

In the heart of Cologne-Ehrenfeld, an enigmatic poster has been the talk of the town for days. "Elisabeth, we said FOREVER," it proclaims, leaving residents puzzled about its meaning. After days of speculation, the mystery has finally been unraveled.

The hunt for Elisabeth and her supposed admirer in Cologne can now come to an end. Just a week after a sizable poster with cryptic messages appeared on a house on Ehrenfeldgürtel, the mystery has been solved. And, much to the dismay of some, it's not a tragic Romeo and Juliet-like tale unfolding in the cathedral city.

The full truth behind the heartbreaking message on the poster? It leads straight to Austria.

Over the weekend, another poster was quietly and stealthily added below the original message. "You can see if it's forever on RTL+," it reads. And, "Sisi. Stream the third season now." There's also a photo of actors Jannik Schümann and Dominique Devenport in historical attire and a loving pose - the duo portrays Emperor Franz Josef and his wife, the legendary Elisabeth, aka Sisi, in the popular series.

Successful Ambush Marketing

RTL may have pulled off a successful ambush marketing campaign by capturing the public's interest in Cologne. Since the first enigmatic message appeared on the apartment building in Ehrenfeld last Monday, people have been pondering the significance of the heartbreaking message to Elisabeth. Additionally, other mysterious messages containing lines such as "Elisabeth, come back. We still had so much to do" or "Elisabeth, you are the one for me. Please come back" appeared on posters and electricity boxes in the area.

Even local media like Cologne's Express newspaper took notice. Social media platform "koelnistkool" also encouraged its users to decode the supposed love story's background. While some may be slightly disappointed by the current resolution of the case, others may have discovered the series – a must-watch – as a result. The third season of "Sisi" premiered on RTL+ on December 1. Three episodes can also be watched for free on RTL at 20:15 on December 27th and 28th.

Additional Insights:

While we couldn't find any specific information about a guerrilla marketing campaign related to Cologne, we did discover that ambush marketing is a common practice in advertising, particularly in sports events. Ambush marketing is a form of marketing that seeks to associate a brand with an event, without official permission or sponsorship. The objective is to gain exposure for the brand by capitalizing on the publicity and attention generated by the event.
