Kickstarting the new academic year on September 1st, the Bavarian Business Association (vbw) spotlights the burgeoning prospects for apprenticeships. According to the Federal Employment Agency, there's around 1.6 open apprenticeship spots per applicant in Bavaria. Furthermore, the succession outlook appears favorable, mentioned CEO Bertram Brossardt. The metal and electric sector is predicted to sustain a robust 97.7% succession rate up until 2025.

Bavarian enterprises account for approximately 20% of the country's whole apprenticeship opportunities, underlines vbw. Acquiring a sense of one's career path at an early stage is instrumental: it minimizes the dropout rate and enlightens young individuals about the sectors that desperately require their workforce. Many companies host orientation days involving experienced apprentices, permitting new hires to acquaint themselves with the company, its employees, and engage in open discussions.

Inspired by new apprentices, the DGB Youth Bayern advises checking compensation to ensure fair reimbursement. "Apprentices should scrutinize their remuneration," suggests regional youth secretary Anna Gmeiner. Tasks such as deliveries, cleaning, regular cleanliness maintenance, and standing in for other employees' vacations and sick leave do not fall under the training responsibilities please note, as clarified by DGB Youth Bayern's regional youth secretary Anna Gmeiner. Moreover, utilizing entitlements to vacations promptly is equally imperative.
