In a cozy pub, our main character appreciates the finer things, like a top-notch pint. He's not picky, mind you, but when he spots a truly exceptional one, he can't help but savor it.
Undoubtedly, the chamber of this establishment is a melting pot of noteworthy characters. As 11:30 strikes on a Saturday morning, another staff member, a trendy art student with a moustache, put down menus onto the tables. The atmosphere is warm, with an elderly man and his Schnauzer-twin, both sporting wispy white beards, relishing in their Guinness. A large family rounds up, filling up a corner table with laughter and chatter, joined by grandparents and more family members.
Lana Del Rey fills the airwaves. The man gives the song a fair chance, acknowledging its appeal, even if he secretly wishes it wasn't playing. The barmaid, a studenty lady with tattoos and bangles, doesn't engage much in conversation, sensing the man's single status might be a red flag. Mustn't be too miffed.

He can't shake the feeling that he's missed out on countless session highs within these walls.
As he orders another round, veines of nostalgia start to creep into his thoughts. Memories of a park encounter come flooding back, of a peculiar fellow who claimed the park as his own. The man recalls how they bonded over cigarette smoke and conversation about the perils of homelessness. Life can be cruel, throwing one challenge after another. And here he is, finding himself back living with his mother in his thirties, wondering if he's made a monumental blunder.
The pub screen lowers, revealing a soccer match, offering a distraction from the realities of his phone calls to his mum and the daunting thought of losing Mandy forever. He can't help but envy the family, seemingly so content with their lives, surrounded by love and laughter, reaffirming the elusive nature of his own existence. But the pint, ever constant, remains his loyal companion, offering solace in the midst of life's ever-changing tides.
