The Beatsteaks' 'PLEASE' stands out a year later

Hey there! It's been quite some time since The Beatsteaks dropped their ninth studio album, 'PLEASE'. And let me tell you, this ain't your run-of-the-mill album release — seven long years went into crafting this masterpiece!

You might think, after such a long hiatus, that these seasoned rockers might've called it quits. But no siree! The Beatsteaks took their time, tinkered, gabbed, and pondered — all while finding joy and lightness in the process. That enthusiasm is palpable in 'PLEASE', which feels like a brand-new beginning for the now middle-aged rockers (the album dropped a day before frontman Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß turned 50).

So instead of throwing in the towel, they rolled up their sleeves and dug deep. They worked, they discussed, they experimented, and they rediscovered their roots. And the outcome? Ain't no half-baked flop here, my friends! The Beatsteaks instead delivered a fresh, captivating ninth album.

But what sets 'PLEASE' apart? Well, the band bucked traditional studio recording norms by choosing an unconventional location: the audience area of the colossal Berlin Columbia Theater. Yup, you heard right! Instead of a sterile, soundproofed booth, the Beatsteaks went for the theater's vast, echoey space. The result? An album that's spacious, vibrant, and brimming with energy.

You can hear it in the tracks, and you can feel it in the songs. No doubt about it, this is a band that's found its groove and is letting loose with renewed vigor.

Wondering if it translates live? Don't fret — The Beatsteaks have always been a force to be reckoned with on stage, and the release weekend at Berlin's Wuhlheide was no exception. Nearly sold out twice, the buzz around 'PLEASE' is undeniable. And best of all, the tour is still going strong, with a stop at Halle Münsterland scheduled for October 11, 2025. A prime opportunity to witness their live energy firsthand!

Just like a fine wine, The Beatsteaks' 'PLEASE' has only improved with age. It's an album that celebrates life and brings joy, both to the band and their devoted fans. And if past performances are any indication, their live shows are twice the fun — pureockity!
