"The Complete Cast of 'Dawson's Creek' Gathering for a Live Script Reading, Organized to Aid F Cancer and in Support of James Van Der Beek"
The much-loved cast of "Dawson's Creek" is set to reunite on September 22 at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York City. This highly anticipated event is not just a nostalgic gathering, but a meaningful reunion aimed at emphasizing the importance of routine cancer screenings and being your own health advocate.
The event, produced by Sony Pictures Television, is in partnership with the cast of "Dawson's Creek" and is sponsored by Guardant Health and Hard Rock Hotel New York. The live reading of the 1998 pilot episode will be a significant moment for fans of the teen drama series, which aired for six seasons from 1998 to 2003 on The WB.
James Van Der Beek, who played Dawson Leery, has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. His diagnosis has undoubtedly added a poignant touch to this reunion, making the event's message of health awareness all the more relevant.
The full cast is scheduled to attend, including James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Busy Philipps. Interestingly, Busy Philipps, Kerr Smith, and Meredith Monroe joined the show after the first season, and they will read various roles from the 1998 pilot episode.
Jason Moore, known for his work on shows like "Hamilton" and "The Tiger King and I," will direct the event. Katie Holmes will also direct, with Michelle Williams participating in the event as well.
F Cancer, a non-profit organisation dedicated to educating and empowering young adults about cancer, will be the primary beneficiary of this event. Dr. Heather Kun, the CEO of F Cancer, has expressed her support for the event.
Tickets for this special event will go on sale at Broadway Direct on August 22 at 10am PT. Don't miss this opportunity to witness a piece of television history while supporting a worthy cause.
