The claim made by the individual is that the Woke Movement is fundamentally beneficial.

Michael Bully Herbig, the acclaimed director of the comedy film "Das Kanu des Manitu," a sequel to the Western parody "Der Schuh des Manitu," has urged for calm and balance in debates as the new movie prepares for its theatrical release on August 14.

In a statement made to the German Press Agency, Herbig expressed his belief that the growing awareness of injustices, offensive, or racist representations is a positive development. However, he also voiced his concerns about the rigidity of views in current debates.

Herbig suggested a more open approach to discussions, encouraging the making of a great film and then watching it together. The director also expressed surprise at the reaction to "Das Kanu des Manitu," stating that people started bashing it without trusting them to handle it creatively and sophisticatedly.

"Das Kanu des Manitu" is a comedy film, much like its predecessor, "Der Schuh des Manitu," which is one of the most successful German films. The film follows the adventures of a Native American tribe as they navigate modern life, providing a humorous take on cultural clashes.

Interestingly, Herbig has also shared his thoughts on the Woke movement, stating that it, while generally good, can tip over if taken too far. He also believes that it's just as wrong to bash everything found offensive and call it 'woke'.

As "Das Kanu des Manitu" gears up for its theatrical release, audiences are eager to see how Herbig's latest work will tackle these complex issues with his signature blend of humour and social commentary.
