The city council is reinstating its presence once again.
The Music City Association, based in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, is a dynamic organisation dedicated to promoting music in the city. Originally known as the Association of Music Performing Associations e.V., it has recently rebranded as the Music City Association.
The association continues to be a strong advocate for music events in the city, having organised the successful Spring 2023 Wandelkoncert. This event featured ten different choirs and instrumental ensembles, drawing an enormous audience. In September 2026, the Music City Association plans to repeat this event as an open-air event on the Zanders site.
The Music City Association works closely with the Culture City Association to achieve its goals. It also collaborates with local music councils or music associations specific to the city, representing the interests of the independent music sector towards politics, council, and administration.
The association's website, a new addition to its services, serves as a platform for easier networking and announcing concerts of all members. It also helps music enthusiasts new to the city find suitable choirs, orchestras, or bands. Subscribing to the association's newsletter, sent daily at 7:07 AM, is free.
The Music City Association has opened up its membership to musical ensembles that are not organised as associations. It invites "music-performing and music-promoting amateur organisations and groups resident in Bergisch Gladbach" to become members. Its goal is to be a low-threshold, active, and musical platform that invites participation.
The association aims to make all kinds of music visible and audible in the city society. It also strives to represent the interests of free music towards the politics, council, and administration of Bergisch Gladbach.
The Music City Association publishes contributions from various sources and is always open to collaboration for its goals. Its collaborative actions, such as the Wandelkoncert, contribute significantly to its mission of promoting more music in the city of Bergisch Gladbach.
