The Green Party in Brandenburg is shouting their victory from the rooftops, flaunting their prominent role in federal politics. Despite the grumblings towards the traffic light coalition and Olaf Scholz's leadership, they're determined to keep their shining stars in the limelight for their state election campaign. Benjamin Raschke, the party's chosen leader for the state election in Potsdam, is brimming with pride for their exceptional individuals like Economy Minister Robert Habeck, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, and Green Party co-leader Ricarda Lang. He thinks the Greens are the only obstacle standing between a potential FDP-led government with its market-liberal approach.

Raschke is overjoyed to have these heavyweights attending their campaign events, viewing them as an honor. The SPD, however, will skip Scholz for their campaign in Brandenburg. Brandenburg's Minister President Dietmar Woidke initially showed no interest in a public campaign with the Chancellor, but Scholz is scheduled to appear with Woidke at an SPD summer festival in Potsdam on August 30. Scholz's unpopularity, as shown by the 62% of eligible voters who think the federal government is underperforming, hasn't deterred Raschke from supporting Scholz's appearance.

The Green Party in Brandenburg has seen surging membership and regional strength in recent times. With a 29% increase in members from the previous year, reaching 3,660 members as of early 2025, the party is experiencing a positive momentum driven by its clear policy direction. The party's regional focus, with an emphasis on female membership, is a sharp contrast to the national party, which is currently battling internal conflicts and unpopularity due to the federal traffic light coalition's failures.
