The Berlin-based band, The BossHoss, is set to release their anniversary album, "Back to the Boots", this Friday. Consisting of Alec Völkel (53) and Sascha Vollmer (53), the band has been active for years and has been known for their unique blend of country-rock.

According to Völkel, "Back to the Boots" is a return to their roots, a testament to twenty years of experience in the music industry. The album features pure country-rock, a style that has been the band's forte since their debut two decades ago.

One of the standout tracks on the album is a rock version of Willie Nelson's famous country song, "On the Road Again". Another notable track is "What the World Needs Now Is Love", a collaboration with R&B legend Dionne Warwick and Belgian singer-songwriter Milow.

The album also includes songs like "One More Time", "Win Win", and "Showdown" that are sure to heat up the mood during their upcoming concert tour. The sultry song "Lunch" and the humorous number "German Angst", which takes aim at German clichés, also stand out on the album.

The BossHoss often travels to the United States for inspiration, and their album evokes the scent of American country roads, motor oil, and whiskey. However, it does not resemble country porridge, as Völkel emphasizes that the BossHoss sound is already within them and can be produced in Berlin.

Vollmer does not let the second term of US President Donald Trump cloud the band's love for the USA. He states that the release of "Back to the Boots" means "Back to the Fans" for The BossHoss - direct, loud, and unadulterated. Völkel believes that the strange happenings in America will pass, and the country will become reasonable again.

The band found fame through homemade CDs of their music, which were copied and distributed among friends, making it known to a wider audience. After becoming judges on the casting format "The Voice", they took a break from touring, but are now ready to hit the road again.

The BossHoss will tour through German clubs from late September onwards to feel close to their fans again. This tour marks a return to their roots, similar to the early years before they became judges on "The Voice".

In addition to the album and tour, "Back to the Boots" also features a collaboration with actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who speaks his famous "Terminator" line "I'll be back" for a song on the album. The Johnny Cash classic "Ring of Fire" was a few cowboy boot sizes too big for the album, but the rest of the tracks are sure to please fans of The BossHoss.
