"The BossHoss return to their origins - a celebration of their roots"
The German band The BossHoss, comprised of Alec Völkel (53) and Sascha Vollmer (53), is set to embark on a tour across Germany this late summer and autumn, performing at various clubs and venues. The tour, starting from late September, aims to bring the band closer to their fans once again.
The band's upcoming album, "Back to the Boots", is a celebration of their 20-year journey, released two decades after their debut album. The album is a blend of country-rock, inspired by America but handcrafted in Germany.
One of the standout tracks on the album is a rocky version of Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again". R&B legend Dionne Warwick also lends her voice to a new version of her hit "What the World Needs Now Is Love" on the album. Tracks like "Lunch" and "German Angst", which satirize German clichés, also stand out.
However, "Back to the Boots" is not a country porridge. The band has opted against Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" for their album, instead creating a unique sound that evokes the smell of American country roads, motor oil, and whiskey throughout.
The band members often travel to the United States for inspiration, but their love for the USA remains unchanged, despite the second term of US President Donald Trump. Sascha Vollmer expresses optimism that America will become reasonable again, viewing the current situation as strange but the country itself as great.
Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger speaks the famous "Terminator" line "I'll be back" for a song on "Back to the Boots". Other powerful songs like "One More Time", "Win Win", and "Showdown" are likely to heat up the mood during the band's upcoming concert tour.
The BossHoss's idea was not born in America but at a bar in Berlin. Their early popularity was due to self-burned CDs being copied and distributed among friends. Sascha Vollmer states that the BossHoss sound is already within them and can be created in Berlin as well.
The band will be performing at numerous venues across Germany, including Sick-Arena Freiburg, Oberschwabenhalle Ravensburg, Stadtwerk.Donau-Arena Regensburg, KIA Metropol Arena Nürnberg, Schleyer-Halle Stuttgart, Mitsubishi Electric Halle Düsseldorf, Volkswagen Halle Braunschweig, StadtHalle Rostock, EmslandArena Lingen, Quarterback Immobilien Arena Leipzig, Wunderino Arena Kiel, Sporthalle Hamburg, Jahrhunderthalle Frankfurt, Saarlandhalle Saarbrücken, Zenith München, and Max-Schmeling-Halle Berlin.
Sascha Vollmer states that "Back to the Boots" also means: Back to the Fans - direct, loud, and unadulterated. The band is eager to connect with their fans once again through their music and live performances.
