Prepare for the return of the Berlin Pyronale! 💥

After a much-missed year off, international fireworks maestros are gearing up to blow your socks off at the Pyronale festival. Set in the iconic Olympic Stadium on Berlin's Maifeld, this agenda-marking event takes place on August 30th and 31st (that's right, Friday and Saturday night). Get ready for a surge of spectators as they flock to one of the most anticipated pyrotechnic displays on the calendar!

This year's festival, the magical 16th installation, will showcase six teams of pyrotechnic wizards from around the globe, including Finland, Canada, Netherlands, Romania, Poland, and the UK. These artists have been handpicked to create a dazzling, mind-blowing aerial spectacle that will push the boundaries of imagination.

A seasoned team of judges will be roadside assisting to rate the dexterity of our artists. They hail from the ranks of professionals, artists, and celebrities, with the addition of acclaimed TV chef Sarah Wiener (62) gracing the panel this year with her culinary expertise.

Each team will take the stage twice, imparting a three-part pyroshow featuring:

  1. A fireworks symphony highlighting a vivid color scheme (this year's armchair-challengers being purple-green).
  2. Synchronizing the display to a prerecorded melody, creating a sight and sound experience that will send your senses into overdrive.
  3. The grand finale where they serenade the crowd with a selection of preferred classical music pieces, blending the timeless beauty of music with the raw power of pyrotechnics.

The event will heat up with a whopping six metric tons of materials in tow. Berlin's Mayor, Kai Wegner (CDU), is predicted to make a guest appearance at the opening ceremony on Friday evening, serving as event patron. Tickets start from a reasonable 29 euros.

Unfortunately, the 2022 festival was postponed due to necessary venue maintenance. However, attendees were still treated to a spectacular display despite the dry spell.

While they're not busy crafting magic in the sky, you can bet your bottom dollar that these international pyrotechnic artists will have their hands full exploring Berlin's rich cultural tapestry or indulging in the city's vibey nightlife. It's going to be an unforgettable, awe-inspiring four days!
