The "BerinGia. Avacha - 2025" race has commenced in Kamchatka

The much-anticipated "Bezymyanny. Avacha - 2025" race is set to take place in the beautiful landscapes of Kamchatka Krai, Russia, during the holidays. This six-stage event, named after the renowned local figure Vitaly Fatyanov, is a testament to the region's love for sports and its stunning natural beauty.

The race, which involves the sport of mushing, where participants use sled dogs to pull their sleds, covers a mountainous route of 300 km with an approximate total elevation of 5,000 m. The first stage, starting at the Vitaly Fatyanov Biathlon Complex in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, is a challenging 65 km journey that ends in Pinachevo village.

The second stage, also 40 km long, starts and ends at Pinachevo village, with a checkpoint at Nalychevo. The third stage, a 70 km stretch, takes place between Nalychevo checkpoint and Nalychevo checkpoint. The fourth stage is a night stage of 20 km, taking place at Nalychevo checkpoint, adding an extra layer of excitement to the race.

The fifth stage, 40 km long, takes place between Nalychevo checkpoint and Pinachevo village. The sixth and final stage, another 65 km long, starts in Pinachevo village and ends at the Vitaly Fatyanov Biathlon Complex in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

A total of 18 mushers from various parts of the country have embarked on this arduous journey. Participants from Kamchatka, Irkutsk Oblast, and Udmurt Republic will compete in three categories: two-dog skijoring, eight-dog sled, and large dog team.
