The beloved seafaring franchise "Pirates of the Caribbean" makes its entrance in Fortnite Battle Royale
The latest update, v30.20, in Fortnite Battle Royale brings a thrilling collaboration with Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean" titled "Cursed Sails." This event introduces several new features that immerse players in a pirate-themed adventure.
One of the key aspects of this event is the Cursed Sails Quests, a series of event-specific challenges players must complete, likely involving pirate-themed objectives. Completing these quests rewards Cursed Gold, a new in-game currency that can be used to unlock items from the Cursed Sails Pass.
The Cursed Sails Quests are divided into eight Pirate Codes, with the first four already live. The Pirate Code Two Quests will go live on July 21, followed by the Pirate Code Four Quests on July 25, the Pirate Code Five Quests on July 27, and the Pirate Code Six Quests on July 29. The remaining codes, including the Pirate Code Seven and Pirate Code Eight Quests, will go live on July 31 and August 2 respectively.
Another exciting addition is the Ship in a Bottle, a collectible or interactive item related to the event. Cracking open a Ship in a Bottle brings forth a cursed ship that can dive into opponents with a devastating crash. A Ship in a Bottle can be found inside Chests scattered in Shipwreck Shallows' pirate ship.
Exploration takes a nautical turn with the introduction of the Pirate Cannon. These cannons, unvaulted for the event, can be found around Shipwreck Shallows. They allow players to launch themselves avast distance or launch a teammate into uncharted territory, adding a new dimension to combat.
The event also introduces Buried Treasure, hidden loot or special chests players can find during the event to gain unique items or bonuses. Buried Treasure, including the Flint-Knock Pistol, can be found on the Island using Buried Treasure Maps.
Lastly, players can soar through the skies on Jack's Ship Glider, a new glider themed after Jack Sparrow's ship. Collecting all eight Map Pieces unlocks this unique glider.
"Cursed Sails" will run until August 6 at 1 a.m. PT. The free reward track items, Premium Reward Track items, and Jack's Ship Glider may be available for purchase in the Shop at a later date.
