In the enchanting world of 80s soccer, Belgian international goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff left an indelible mark on the hearts of Bundesliga fans. His journey to FC Bayern Munich in 1982, following his fame as "Footballer of the Year" and "European Championship runner-up," signified an incredible time for soccer enthusiasts.

Pfaff's debut in the Bundesliga was nothing short of legendary. In his inaugural game against Werder Bremen, he found himself confronted by Uwe Reinders' unusual long throw, leading Pfaff to touch the ball with his fingertips in the five-meter area, deflecting it into his own net, giving Werder an early 1-0 lead. This momentous event, known as the "throw-in goal," marked Pfaff's entrance into German stardom.

Despite his fondness for the limelight, Pfaff's infamous neighbor said, "But it has to be done very quickly. If Pfaff sees us, he'll want to be in the picture straight away!" The goalkeeper's love for media attention was apparent in his friendly demeanor, always taking the time to acknowledge and interact with fellow soccer fans.

However, during an injury break, trainer Lattek decided to rest Pfaff in favor of Raimond Aumann, causing quite the uproar from the Belgian press, who documented every aspect of the Pfaffs' lives.
