KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 - Following the conclusion of Parti Keadilan Rakyat's Annual National Congress in Johor Bahru, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited the Harimau Malaya squad, currently in training in Kuala Lumpur.

In a Facebook post, Anwar expressed his encouragement to the national team ahead of their crucial Group F tie of the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers against Vietnam, slated for June 10 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. He assured the team of the nation's backing, saying, "All Malaysians will stand firmly behind you, offering unwavering support."

Head coach Peter Cklamovski expressed confidence in his team's ability to upset the Golden Dragons in this vital encounter, as reported last month. Malaysia and Vietnam currently share three points each at the top of Group F, with Nepal and Laos trailing at the bottom.

The Malaysian team had a strong start in their Group F campaign, securing a 2-0 win over Nepal in March, while Vietnam recorded a 5-0 victory over Laos in their opening match.

As part of their preparations for the Vietnam match, Malaysia will play two friendlies against Cape Verde. The first match, a Tier 1 international friendly, takes place on May 29 at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, followed by a closed-door training match on June 3 at the National Stadium.

Tickets for the Vietnam match can be purchased online, with prices starting from RM40 for open tickets, RM60 for grandstand, and RM70 for premium seats. Children aged 6-12 will pay RM5.

Malaysia, ranked 131st in the world, and Vietnam, ranked 109th, will vie for a place in the final round of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers, alongside Nepal and Laos.
