After more than five decades, the long-lost Buckingham Nicks album, a pre-Fleetwood Mac collaboration between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, is set to make a comeback. The remastered reissue will be released on September 19, 2025, casting a light on the early roots of Fleetwood Mac's most iconic lineup.

Originally released on September 5, 1973, the album has been out of print for years, becoming a sought-after collector's item. Its re-release comes amid renewed interest, likely sparked by the forthcoming Apple Fleetwood Mac documentary film and recent social media activity by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.

The album, which never officially graced the CD format before, will now be available on vinyl, CD, and digital platforms. Special vinyl editions will feature bonus 7" singles, including "Crying in the Night" and "Frozen Love." Notably, the album's re-release will also mark the debut of Buckingham Nicks on CD.

The historical significance of this album lies in its direct connection to Fleetwood Mac's transformation. Mick Fleetwood, a member of Fleetwood Mac, discovered Buckingham Nicks at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles in 1974. After hearing the song "Frozen Love," he recruited Buckingham and Nicks to join Fleetwood Mac for their 1975 self-titled album, marking a pivotal change that led to the band's massive success.

The reissue of Buckingham Nicks not only satisfies longtime fans and collectors but also reframes the early collaborative roots of Fleetwood Mac. Over the years, the album has grown in stature, and its re-release will be available on streaming platforms.

Interestingly, fans who are searching for a rare vinyl copy of the new album can find color variations at various retailers. Custard (Amazon), Baby Pink (indie stores), Violet (Books A Million), and Baby Blue (general retail) are some of the options available.

Meanwhile, Buckingham and Nicks have been communicating again, stirring speculation among fans. Nicks previously stated that there is no chance of Fleetwood Mac reuniting without Christine McVie, who passed away in 2022, leaving the band without one of its original members. However, a cryptic message on Instagram by Nicks, followed by a response from Buckingham, potentially confirms a new project.

Buckingham has expressed his willingness to rejoin Fleetwood Mac if there's a way to heal the rift and close the band's journey on a more circular note. Nicks' post hinting at a September 19 release date for the album further fuels speculation about a possible reunion.

The re-release of Buckingham Nicks will be a significant milestone, as it marks the beginning of Fleetwood Mac's critically acclaimed era. The enduring mega-smash Rumours by Fleetwood Mac was released in 1977, following Buckingham Nicks' joining Fleetwood Mac in 1974. The new album, a digital re-release, will be available on September 19, 2023. Rhino High Fidelity will also release limited edition vinyl versions of Buckingham Nicks, including bonus replicas of the album's 7" singles.

Celebrities Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks' long-lost album, Buckingham Nicks, is set to provide a glimpse into their pop-culture beginnings with its digital re-release on September 19, 2023. The comeback of this influential music piece is expected to elevate the duo's entertainment status, reigniting interest in their early roots that led to Fleetwood Mac's success.
