"The 'Ak Yol' party announces its candidates for the Majilis elections"
In the recent elections held on January 10, 2021, the People's Party of Kazakhstan (NPPK) and the 'Ak Zhol' Party made significant strides, with 'Ak Zhol' securing 12 deputy mandates, compared to their previous 10.
Following a plenum of the central council of the DPK 'Ak Zhol', a list of 12 individuals nominated for registration as deputies of the Mazhilis has been published. Among them are Peruash Azat Turlibekuly, Azamat Rakhatovich Abildaev, Yerlan Kairatovich Barlybaev, Berik Salymzhanovich Dusembinov, Serik Sarsenovich Erubaev, Dana Madiyevna Espaeva, Aigul Kyzylovna Zhumabaeva, Kazbek Zharilkassynuly Isa, Andrei Grigoryevich Linnik, Yerlik Khaidaruly Omirgaliev, Maksat Bazaralyuly Ramanqulov.
Notably, the 'Ak Zhol' party will also be represented in the leadership of one of the seven committees of the Mazhilis chamber. Azhar Giniyat, a representative of the 'Ak Zhol' party, has been elected to head the Committee on Social and Cultural Development.
Meanwhile, Meruert Kazbekova was elected deputy chairman of the 'Ak Zhol' party for work with the parliamentary faction and deputy groups in local maslikhats.
In a significant shift, it is planned that one of the seven committees of the Mazhilis chamber will now be headed by a representative of 'Ak Zhol'.
It is worth mentioning that the ruling Nur Otan party received 76 deputy mandates in the elections.
At the first plenary session, the deputies will elect the speaker of the chamber by secret ballot. The exact date for this session has yet to be announced. The plenum has already discussed the results of the elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the seventh convocation.
