Rockin' the School Schedule: State Government Introduces Gradual Implementation of All-Day Education

- The administrating body, Land, plans to incrementally increase the contingent of full-time employees.

Let's get this straight, y'all: Brandenburg is kicking things up a notch with the planned expansion of comprehensive all-day learning. As of now, around 60% of schools already offer this option, state Secretary Hendrik Fischer announced in the state parliament of Potsdam. Compared to other federal states, Brandenburg is holdin' its own, but the state government is always on the hunt for more funds to help this bad boy grow.

Mark your calendars for August 1, 2026, because that's when things are gonna start heating up. First-graders in primary schools will score a ticket to all-day funding and will be attendin' all-day education. But, be sure to pump up the jams one grade at a time, 'cause the claim will expand every year from there. By August 2029, every student from grades one to four in primary schools will have a claim to this all-day education ride.

So, what exactly are we talkin' about when we mention all-day schools? These are schools that offer an all-day option for the kiddos, whippin' up a storm most days of the week (aimin' for at least seven hours a day), and even dishin' out a tasty meal. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, right? According to the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, that's exactly what it is.

  1. By 2029, under the state community policy, every student from grades one to four in primary schools is expected to benefit from the expanded vocational training programs being offered as part of the all-day education.
  2. The proposed implementation of all-day education, which has already begun, includes offering vocational training not just once, but multiple times during the week, aiming for seven hours a day.
  3. Hendrik Fischer, the state secretary in Potsdam, announced that as of now, approximately 60% of Brandenburg's schools are offering all-day learning as part of their vocational training program.
