'The 2nd Installment of 'The Last of Us': Uncovering the Mystery of the Seraphites, or the 'Scars'.'

In the gripping world of The Last of Us Season 2, a new faction emerges, known as the Seraphites, or the 'Scars.' These enigmatic figures, roaming post-apocalyptic America, are led by a charismatic figure known as 'The Prophet.'

The Seraphites are easily recognisable by their distinctive self-inflicted facial scarring on either cheek, and their sophisticated whistling language. They prefer to use melee weapons like hammers, and stealth weapons such as bows and arrows, living without modern technology, much like the Amish.

Their territory seems to be well-defined, with the park in Seattle serving as their sanctuary. The Seraphites communicate through a complex whistling language, and their gatherings are marked by a ritual called 'taking the holy mortification.'

The WLF, or 'Wolves,' are the Seraphites' direct rivals. The WLF have advanced weapons like tanks, guns, and foot soldiers, while the Seraphites rely on their melee and stealth weapons for defence. Tensions between the two groups have escalated, and the WLF have been accused of breaking the truce.

One of the most significant events in the series so far is the massacre of the entire Seraphite group found at the end of episode 4. This act was committed by one of the WLF members, Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), who tragically killed Joel.

The Seraphites' fear of the WLF is palpable. The Seraphite leader calls the WLF 'Wolves' and seems more scared of them than the Infected. This fear culminated in a grim incident where a WLF soldier, attempting to defect, was hanged and disembowelled by the Seraphites.

The Seraphites' leader, The Prophet, is a key figure within the group. Often seen as a spiritual or religious leader, The Prophet guides the Seraphites with strict, dogmatic beliefs and enforces their militant way of life. Murals of The Prophet can be found around Seattle, bearing the words 'Feel her love.'

The Seraphites first made their appearance in Season 2, episode 3, on a forest trail leading to Seattle. As the story unfolds, the Seraphites continue to be a central part of the narrative, adding a layer of complexity and intrigue to the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us.
