Annika Lau: Empowering Women's Shelters in Germany 🇩🇪
During the RTL telethon, Annika Lau will share stories from her work at women's shelters. She'll share tales of resilience and hope from children who have survived abuse at the hands of their fathers. The proceeds from the telethon will be put towards expanding support services for kids and teens affected by violence in these shelters. UK police reported 4,320 instances of domestic violence a day last year, with 80% of the victims being women.
43,200 children and young people seek protection in women's shelters every yeasr. Since their homes have become battlegrounds, these children yearn for attention, compassion, and a sense of security. "All they need now is our support." says Annika, a mother of three. "Please make a donation!" ❤️
Wayne Carpendale: Building a Better Future for Arusha's Children 🇹🇿
Eager preschoolers and their homemade signs are impatiently waiting for Wayne Carpendale to arrive in Arusha, Tanzania, where he'll help provide children the chance to grow up free from hunger, sickness, and poverty. Education is the key to a better life for these eager students, he says. "Every child deserves this chance. School means their future!" Carpendale, an avid advocate for education, is partnering with "RTL - Wir helfen Kindern," help alliance gGmbH, and Mastercard to construct a "School of the Future."
Wayne will share stories from his time in Tanzania at the telethon, encouraging viewers to contribute, so that these children can receive the best education possible. "Let's help them reach for a brighter future!"
Riccardo Simonetti: Defending Cambodia's Street Children 👦🏽🌙
The laughter from children selling goods on the roads of Cambodia is often a smoke screen for the harsh realities they face. Poverty, exploitation, and abuse plague these young lives, but that doesn't deter Simonetti from fighting for better opportunities for them.
Armed with a fresh perspective from his time in Phnom Penh, Cambodia's slums, Simonetti champions the construction of more drop-in centers for street children. "Security, learning, playing, and having a sense of family - these are essential for kids growing up on the streets. Please donate now, so we can continue to offer them a safe haven!"
