Thanh is re-elected as VGA President, vows to achieve progress in the forthcoming term.
Le Kien Thanh has been re-elected as the President of the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) for a five-year term, spanning from 2025 to 2030. The re-election took place during the National Congress on August 14, 2025, in Hanoi.
The VGA's new vision includes building a professional, transparent, and democratic organization. Thanh stated that the VGA will promote the development of youth golf, improve the quality of coaches and referees, and make golf a popular sport in Vietnam.
During this new term, Thanh's plans for the VGA include strongly promoting youth golf development to nurture new talent, improving the quality of coaching and referee training to raise standards across the sport, and gradually making golf a popular and community-oriented sport accessible to more people.
The new Executive Committee of the VGA, consisting of 53 outstanding individuals, was also elected to support these goals throughout the term. The new committee represents golf organizations nationwide and related agencies.
The re-election of Thanh was met with strong support and trust from the delegates during the election. The National Congress featured the participation of more than 70 delegates, including individuals from cities and provinces, organizations, and businesses operating in the field of golf.

The VGA's fourth term saw Vietnamese golfers earning remarkable achievements, including winning an SEA Games title in 2023, marking a historic milestone for golf in Vietnam.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang and Director of the Sports Authority of Vietnam Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet attended the congress and suggested strategic directions for sustainable development, professionalization, and deep integration of the VGA in the next term.
The congress also pointed out remaining problems that need to be fixed, setting a new vision for the further development of golf in Vietnam.
