Thanawin "Pro Ong" Somsri, a prominent golfer within the local scene, drove his tournament team to a triumphant total of 129 points at the Thai Senior Tour Pro-Am which took place in Chiang Mai.

In the scenic setting of the Alpine Golf Resort in Chiang Mai, the Thai Senior Tour Pro-Am took place on Monday, serving as a prelude to the main SAT-NFDF-Thai Senior Tour, scheduled from September 17-19 at the same course. The Pro-Am tournament, designed to build camaraderie between amateur and professional golfers and to promote the upcoming main tournament, was attended by several notable figures. Dr Cholnan Srikaew, the former Minister of Public Health, and Montree Hanjai, President of the Chiang Mai Provincial Sports Association, were among the attendees. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr Thanukeart Chanchum, Manager of the National Sports Development Fund, and his team from the Sports Authority of Thailand. Sutin Darunyothin, President of the Thai Senior Professional Golf Association, was also present during the awards ceremony, where he presented the prizes and trophies. The Pro-Am tournament was a team event, and the SPGA4 team, consisting of Thanawin Somsri, Natchapon Noimor, Pichet Bumpen, and Rut Wisetsin, emerged victorious with a total score of 129. Local golfer Thanawin Somsri, known as 'Pro Ong', led his team to this successful outcome. Natchapon Noimor from the SPGA4 team shone individually, finishing with the best Individual Low Net score of 69. Meanwhile, Sroisamjan Chantharanit from the Pro Udon team secured the Individual Low Gross with a score of 74. The main SAT-NFDF-Thai Senior Tour, with its 15 million baht prize pool, is eagerly anticipated. The tournament series, known as 'Asian Mixed 2025', is set to bring even more excitement to the golfing community in Thailand. Stay tuned for more updates on the world of golf in Thailand!
