Thama is set in two different timelines: the present day and the ancient Vijayanagara Empire, promising a unique blend of modern and historical elements. The film's plot revolves around a bloody love story with a supernatural twist, combining romance, horror, and comedy in a way that's never been seen before in the Maddock Supernatural Universe.

Principal photography took place from December 2024 to mid-2025 in Delhi, Mumbai, and Ooty. The soundtrack for the film is composed by Sachin–Jigar.

In addition to the main cast, Thama features special appearances by Varun Dhawan in a cameo as Bhaskar/Bhediya, reprising his role from Bhediya. Malaika Arora and Nora Fatehi also make special song appearances.
