Miss World 2025: Opal Suchata Chuangsri Crowned in Hyderabad

Thailand's Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned the 72nd Miss World during the glamorous finale held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana.

As the seventh international beauty pageant held in India, it featured 108 contestants from across the globe. Krystyna Pyszková, the 71st Miss World, passed on her crown to Opal Suchata during a memorable ceremony. The evening was marked by awe and admiration for the talented and extraordinary contestants.

In the final round, the four finalists were asked a decisive question, with their success dependent on their answers and the judges' evaluations. Opal Suchata secured the title, while Miss Ethiopia took the first runner-up position, followed by Miss Poland in third, and Miss Martinique in fourth.

India's representative, Nandini Gupta, did not qualify for the top eight. However, she managed to secure a spot as one of the four continental winners following her victory in the Top Model Challenge segment, a component of the preliminary events in Hyderabad. The continental winners included Jasmine Gerhardt of Ireland (Europe), Selma Kamanya of Namibia (Africa), and Aurelie Joachim of Martinique (Americas and Caribbean).

Historically, India has produced several Miss World winners, with Reita Faria becoming the first Indian Miss World in 1966. Notably, India's last win was in 2017 by Manushi Chhillar.

The Miss World pageant encompasses several stages, with contestants first selected through national pageants before competing in various rounds. The international pageant consists of talent showcases, evening gown presentations, interviews, and a talent competition with an audition process. The contestants are narrowed down through quarter-finals and semi-finals, resulting in the final four who compete for the crown.

Though the prize money for the winner has not been specified, the runners-up are also awarded prizes. Indonesia claimed the Talent Competition title, featuring 24 exceptional contestants selected through a two-round audition.
