Thai Nguyen to welcome inaugural Party Congress following unification with Bac Kan, marking a significant event in its political history.
Thai Nguyen, a province in northern Vietnam, is making significant strides in its economic development. The region, known as a hub for electronics and high-tech manufacturing, is now accelerating its industrial park expansion to attract foreign investment and drive growth.
The industrial and service sectors have taken an increasing share of the economy in Thai Nguyen, with the provincial economy expanding at an average annual rate of over 8% in the past years. This growth has positioned Thai Nguyen as a catalyst for Vietnam's low-carbon future, emerging at the forefront of Vietnam's green transition.
The upcoming Congress of the Thai Nguyen Party Committee, scheduled from September 22-24 at the Thai Nguyen Cultural Centre, will bring together 446 official delegates representing over 140,000 Party members. The motto of the congress is 'Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development'.
The draft political report for the congress sets out clear directions for modernising infrastructure, advancing science and technology, and encouraging green and circular economic models. Thai Nguyen aims for double-digit growth this year, focusing on infrastructure development, improvement of the investment environment, digital transformation, labor productivity, and support for local businesses.
Nguyen Dang Binh serves as the Standing Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Party Committee and Chairman of Thai Nguyen People's Council. The new rural development scheme brought significant improvements in infrastructure and living standards in Thai Nguyen.
Thai Nguyen targets a green and sustainable agricultural sector, implementing solutions for green, smart, and sustainable production zones to enhance the value of agricultural products and adapt to climate change. Poverty rates in Thai Nguyen have declined by an average of more than 2% annually.
Established through the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces, Thai Nguyen currently comprises 92 commune-level administrative units. The province is not only growing economically but also making strides in its green transition, setting an example for other regions in Vietnam.
