Houston Texans Safety Jimmie Ward Arrested for Bail Violation

Houston Texans safety Jimmie Ward was arrested on Thursday by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for a violation of his bail conditions related to a previous incident where he was charged with felony assault and family violence.

The initial June arrest involved allegations of assaulting his fiancée, leading to an emergency protective order being filed against Ward. According to court records, the charge for the previous incident was assault - family violence impeding breath/circulation, a third-degree felony.

Ward was taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Jail in the previous incident. He paid his $30,000 bond following the initial arrest. However, his second arrest occurred because he tested positive for alcohol, violating his bail terms.

An earlier booking photo of Ward is available from the Montgomery County Jail. The arrest occurred just after 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, but no additional information about the circumstances surrounding the arrest has been disclosed.

Montgomery County deputies responded to a report of an assault at a home in Magnolia around 4:34 a.m. in the previous incident. The woman who alleged she was assaulted, strangled, and threatened by Ward spoke to deputies.

The arrest of Jimmie Ward is not related to a new offense separate from the June domestic violence case. Instead, it is due to the violation of his bail conditions by testing positive for alcohol.

Ward's lawyer has stated there are no new charges, and they aim to seek dismissal of the case at a grand jury hearing on August 31, 2025. The reason for the arrest warrant against Jimmie Ward is currently unclear.

Jimmie Ward has been placed on the Texans' physically unable to perform list since training camp due to offseason foot surgery. The team has not yet released an official statement regarding Ward's arrest.
