Three alleged assailants, presumed to be responsible for a lethal attack on tourists in Kashmir, have been reportedly neutralized by Indian forces, according to an official statement.

Terrorists responsible for Kashmir tourist massacre have been reportedly neutralized by Indian forces.

In a significant development, three militants responsible for the gruesome massacre of 26 people, predominantly Indian tourists, in a scenic mountain spot of India-administered Kashmir in April 2021 have been eliminated by Indian security forces.

The joint operation that led to the militants' deaths involved the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force, and Jammu and Kashmir police officials. The operation took place near Srinagar in late July 2025.

According to India's Home Minister, Amit Shah, all three terrorists were Pakistani nationals involved in the attack that took place at the Pahalgam tourist resort on April 22, 2021. Evidence such as Pakistani voter ID cards and chocolates made in Pakistan were recovered from them.

The massacre had sparked widespread outrage in India and triggered a brief but intense military escalation between India and Pakistan. The events led to casualties on both sides of the border, with airstrikes being launched by India on Pakistan, followed by a reciprocal military response.

India holds Pakistan responsible for backing the attackers, although Pakistan denies involvement. The specific names of the three militants have not been publicly disclosed. India's Home Minister, Amit Shah, stated that the three killed militants were responsible for the killings in Baisaran Valley.

It is important to note that both India and Pakistan control parts of Kashmir, but both claim the territory in its entirety. This is a developing story, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
