Terrorists backed by India eliminated in Zhob by security forces, confirms ISPR
Pakistan's Security Forces Eliminate 50 Terrorists in Anti-Infiltration Operation
Security forces in Pakistan's Zhob district, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, have successfully completed a four-day anti-infiltration operation, resulting in the elimination of 50 terrorists between August 7 and August 11, 2025.
The operation, which took place in the Sambaza area, focused on neutralising terrorists described by military sources as khawarij—a term used for militant members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). During the latest operation on August 10-11, the forces also recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the militants.
The military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has emphasised that Pakistan's armed forces are committed to securing the nation's frontiers and defeating attempts to destabilize peace and stability along the border. The operation was part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in Balochistan, with several previous encounters also resulting in militant casualties.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the security forces for their actions, stating that they risked their lives to foil terrorists' infiltration attempt and thwarted their nefarious designs. He added that the timely actions of the security forces foiled a heinous plot to sabotage peace in Balochistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces, highlighting their success in bringing to a dreadful end the Indian-sponsored terrorists involved in spreading unrest in Balochistan. The nation views the security forces' successes against these terrorists with admiration, according to Minister Naqvi.
The operation, which lasted from August 7 to August 11, resulted in the killing of 47 terrorists in the first three days, with an additional 3 terrorists eliminated in the final sanitisation operation conducted on the night of August 10-11. The ISPR stated that the security forces are committed to securing the nation's frontiers and thwarting attempts at sabotaging peace, stability, and progress of Pakistan.
In a separate incident, nine Pakistani soldiers were killed in a militant ambush in Washuk district (southern Balochistan), with clashes involving militants attempting to attack police installations. This incident underlines continuing security challenges in the broader region, but is distinct from the Zhob operation.
The core details of the operation are:
- Duration: August 7 to August 11, 2025
- Location: Sambaza area, Zhob district, Balochistan, along Pakistan-Afghanistan border
- Militants neutralized: 50 total (47 in first three days, plus 3 in the final sanitisation operation)
