Delhi Cracks Down on Pakistani Nationals

It's time for thousands of Pakistani nationals living in Delhi to pack their bags and say goodbye, as the Indian government has taken a firm stance following the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack.

With visas revoked and no leniency shown, the Delhi police are now on a mission to ensure these unwelcome guests return to their homeland. The Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) has shared a list of approximately 5,000 Pakistani nationals - including some Hindu Pakistanis with Long-Term Visas (LTVs) – with Delhi police for verification and immediate action.

A senior official reports that the central and North East districts, teeming with these foreign nationals, are the primary focus. Meetings have been held, and orders to swiftly enforce the eviction have been issued. Senior officers are keeping a close eye on the situation to ensure complete compliance.

The Intelligence Bureau has been instrumental in compiling this extensive list and has asked these Pakistani nationals to vacate the premises at their earliest convenience. In fact, reports suggest that they have two lists containing the names of 3,000 and 2,000 Pakistani nationals residing in Delhi. Duplicate names are common, but verifications are ongoing as many have already fled the scene.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has taken matters into its own hands, ordering the revocation of visas for Pakistani nationals, effective April 27, 2025, with a few exceptions. Medical, diplomatic, and Long-Term visas retain their validity. However, existing medical visas will expire on April 29, 2025.

Furthermore, to strengthen the security measures, India has suspended its SAARC visa schemes meant for Pakistanis and has also expelled certain diplomatic personnel. Hindu Pakistani nationals residing near famous areas like Majnu Ka Tila and Signature Bridge are not exempted from these stringent measures.

So, brace yourself, my dear Pakistani nationals, because Delhi is ratcheting up the pressure to protect its citizens. Your time in this city is running out, and it's time to bid adieu to this land of the rising sun.

  1. The Intelligence Bureau has also created two separate lists of approximately 3,000 and 2,000 Pakistani nationals residing in Delhi.
  2. The Delhi police, assisted by the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO), have been mandated to verify the list and take immediate action against the Pakistani nationals listed.
  3. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has added that medical, diplomatic, and Long-Term visas will retain their validity, but all other visas have been revoked, effective April 27, 2025.
  4. In addition to visa suspensions and revocations, India's general-news outlets have reported an increase in crime-and-justice investigations focusing on Pakistani nationals residing in districts like Majnu Ka Tila and Signature Bridge.
