Tenth Anniversary Marriott Cycling Event: A 11-Hour Pedaling Pursuit for Charity
Get ready to pedal for a purpose! The 10th edition of the Marriott Cycling Challenge played out at Olea, masterfully hosted by the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. This marathon cycling event clocked in at a grueling 11 hours, with every pedal stroke signifying a vital step towards a better future for children in need.
This year, more than 300 compassionate cyclists banded together in unity, joining forces to support Hope and Homes for Children Romania. By doing so, they contributed significantly to the organization's ambitious mission: assisting children in transitioning from institutional care into family-style homes, enabling them to experience the joys of a typical childhood.
Generosity in Motion: The Marriott Community Unites
The Marriott Worldwide Business Councils Hungary & South East Europe took the reins, expertly coordinating the event under the guidance of the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. In the spirit of togetherness, the Marmorosch Bucharest Autograph Collection, Sheraton Bucharest Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Bucharest Floreasca, Moxy Bucharest Old Town, and World Class Romania pooled their resources, bringing the broader Marriott community and local partners together for a common goal.
The continued support of impactful partners like Nespresso (Nestlé Romania), DIGI Romania, Systematic, and Porsche Finance Group Romania helped propel this year's event to new heights. The innovative synergy between these organizations resulted in an impressive 69,000 RON in funds raised, a striking leap forward from the previous edition's 49,000 RON donation. Each penny raised will directly contribute to constructing one of the five crucial family homes needed to close down remaining orphanages in Romania.
Pedaling with Passion in a Springtime Serenade
The Olea Terrace provided a picturesque backdrop for this charitable cycling event. As the warm weather and invigorating music filled the air, the soothing ambiance of springtime perfectly accompanied the generous spirit of the day. The Olea team's thoughtful touches, including fresh fruits and meticulously curated culinary delights, added to the overall charm of the event. The associates added a touch of elegance, ensuring the atmosphere overflowed with joy and generosity.
Across 11 exciting cycling sessions, held between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM, each pedal stroke was more than just exercise – it embodied a promise of a brighter future for disadvantaged children. World Class instructors' infectious energy and motivation fueled participants, inspiring them to cycle with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm, transforming their effort into a genuine act of solidarity.
