Tennis Tournament in Bad Homburg Continues with Vigor
Notable Participants Gather for the 2022 Bad Homburg Open
The fifth installment of the Bad Homburg Open promises a formidable lineup of competitors, marking the strongest assembly of top-ten players yet. A combined seven Grand Slam titles will be represented in the tournament held at the Kurpark. Additionally, tennis icons Boris Becker and Andrea Petkovic will make an appearance.
Originally, Jasmine Paolini, Iga Swiatek, Emma Navarro, and Paula Badosa were announced as participants from the top ten. Now, the participation of US Open finalist Jessica Pegula (WTA No. 3) and Emma Navarro (WTA No. 9) has been confirmed.
Germany's No. 1, Eva Lys, is also set to join the tournament as a means to bolster her confidence prior to Wimbledon. As a warm-up event for the third Grand Slam tournament of the year, the Bad Homburg Open is the most significant tournament in the week preceding Wimbledon. The Kurpark final is scheduled for June 28, with the Wimbledon tournament following closely on June 30.
A special highlight will be provided by Boris Becker and Andrea Petkovic, who will record their tennis podcast, "Becker Petkovic," live on Centre Court for the first time. Access to this event on June 23 at 6 PM is granted only with a day ticket, as no extra tickets are available.
