Tennis Legend Venus Williams Steps into Broadcasting Booth at French Open 2025

Get ready to hear from one of the all-time greats as Venus Williams joins TNT Sports' commentary team at the 2025 French Open. The 44-year-old tennis impressive will be sharing her insights and experiences with a star-studded panel.

Amongst her co-commentators will be Andre Agassi, Chris Evert, Jim Courier, Lindsay Davenport, John McEnroe, and Caroline Wozniacki. This marks Williams' first major broadcasting role at a Slam since she stepped away from full-time competition.

The announcement comes as TNT Sports claimed the U.S. television rights for Roland Garros, taking over from NBC. Williams' role will be as a lead analyst.

While Williams hasn't won the French Open in singles, she reached the finals in 2002. She did, however, take doubles titles in 1999 and 2010, alongside her sister Serena.

"I'm thrilled to share my clay-court knowledge," Williams stated in a press release, "I've experienced the grind of playing at Roland Garros, and I can't wait to share that with fans."

Despite being absent from the singles game since 2023, Williams' tennis career has earned her a spot amongst the sport's legends. Even as she focuses on her business ventures, including her interior design company V Starr, she continues to make her mark in the tennis world.

Though her recent inactivity gives rise to retirement rumors, Williams remains active at 44, defying expectations. In 2019, she was diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome, an autoimmune condition that can lead to fatigue and joint pain, but she has shown remarkable resilience in her career, with seven Grand Slam victories in singles and fourteen in doubles.

Though there's no concrete information on the other members of the TNT Sports broadcast team, Williams' addition is a welcome boost for tennis fans looking forward to channels like TNT when it begins its coverage of Roland Garros 2025.
