Nick Kyrgios, the entertaining tennis pro known for his on-court antics, has hopped on the OnlyFans train. With a polarizing reputation and a knack for entertaining his fans, the move was a no-brainer for Kyrgios, as he explained in a press release.
Kyrgios made waves when he claimed, "The introduction of OnlyFans was a given. They revolutionized the social media scene, and I wanted to be a part of it. Athletes can no longer only exist on the field or court; we have to make an impact on social media, too."
The Social-Media giant began as an adult-oriented platform, but its growth has seen it expand beyond its initial focus. It now caters to various content creators like comedians, athletes, and influencers. In 2021, OnlyFans launched OFTV, a safe-for-work streaming platform to broaden its offerings.
Kyrgios announced his intentions to create, produce, stage, and retain control over his content. He teased, "Of course, there'll be plenty of tennis tips, tricks, and behind-the-scenes gems, but my fans will also get a glimpse into different aspects of me. My matches, tattoos, the private me – it's all on the table! I'm bringing the fans along for the ride!"
Unsurprisingly, OnlyFans has become a lucrative platform for creators. Last year, its 239 million users earned more than 5.5 billion dollars – a 1.2 billion dollar increase from the prior year. Moreover, OnlyFans plans to cut user fees by 20% while the creators keep 80% of the profits.
The Australian, who missed several Grand Slams due to hand, knee, and foot injuries, still found time to set up his OnlyFans account.
Despite withdrawing from all four Grand Slams in 2023 due to his injuries, Kyrgios may be a late bloomer when it comes to OnlyFans. The same can be said for Rafael Nadal, who missed a large chunk of the 2022 Australian Open due to an injury but returned to action in January for the Brisbane International.
OnlyFans has kept profits rolling in ever since its inception in 2016, having transferred over 10 billion dollars to YouTubers so far. These numbers underscore why Kyrgios' move to OnlyFans piqued the interest of many. Trust us, though; he's not the only famous face on the platform.
